New Apartment!

I haven't updated in a long time! There are some things like this I can't share with facebook. So after days of really, really hard work I finally have an apartment in NYC. I don't think you guys can comprehend how hard it is to find a decent apartment in NYC. It requires weeks of craigslist, facebooking potential roommates, endless trips across the city to see and meet apartments/roommates and finally both sides have to want each other. But I am good at what I do! lol cause I got everything I wanted and for a very good price.

-high rise building with 24 hr doorman in the east end of manhattan
-built right next to the east river as a little plaza community, it has a health club (with gym, pool and exercise classes), grocery store, bank, pharmacy, liquor store, dry cleaners, restaurant, etc all right below
-the plaza has a huge outdoor common area with beautiful views and you can have parties, bbqs or just sit there on a quiet night. i think the plaza regularly hosts events as well there.
-free shuttle to and from grand central (where I work), every weekday, a 7 minute drive!
-my roommates are american born chinese, 24/female works for juicy couture and 25/male who works in finance. and no they are not a couple.
-here comes the best part....wait for it....it's only $1100 a month!!

here are some pics, excuse my dad's terrible camera skills. i didn't realize until after i got home he didn't even really take a picture of the room. but check out the view from my bedroom window!!

there are some downsides though, b/c it's right next to the river it's a bit far from the subway (like 15 minute walk), so i would probably cab it late at night for safety. however, there is a 24 hr bus that takes u to the subway and it comes every 10 minutes. And because it's a converted 2 bedroom, we have no living room lol. and no dogs are allowed :(.

Adios Amigos

End of an era.
I finished my last exam on Wed afternoon at 1:30pm. I had slept from about 7am to 11am but it was so easy we left after an hour. It was all multiple choice and the very last question I didn't know but the choices were a bunch of cities. The very last choice was New York City so I felt it was very symbolic, I circled it and grinned like a maniac. :D It doesn't feel like it's over for me though, I don't think it's really sunk in. It's so scary, we're really on our own now...

Anyway, my flight is tomorrow afternoon, I've been running around nonstop packing, unpacking, repacking and just trying to sort myself out. I will be back May 26th arriving at the airport at 5:45am. Don't expect big presents, I borrowed Ronald's bag and it's tiny, I can barely fit all my stuff in there. I'll be updating the travel blog regularly from the road:
http://grad08southamerica.blogspot.com/
The best way to reach me is through my gmail, I will try to check it every few days. If anything exciting happens, email me, I still want to know. If there's an emergency, call my parents and they'll have phone numbers where you can reach me but i don't think you'll need to. I must run now as I still have a million and one things to do before I leave. Oh, I am also changing my cell again so forget whatever number you have, I'm just unreachable basically for the next month.

Love you all and I'll see you in a month.
Brenda

It's that time of year again!

Let's ROLL UP THE RIM! I say we put some stakes in it this time, we each contribute a dollar, winner (the person who wins the most, if there is a tie, they can choose a coin flip or split), gets the pot.

Alice: 2/20
Brenda: 1/8
Nif: 3/36
GLo: 0/20
Shirley: 2/stopped counting
BS: 3/30something

So the winners are BS and Nif with a tie and the big loser is GLo! lol next time we get together we'll buy you two timmy's lol.

New Blog

http://grad08southamerica.blogspot.com/
Here's the link for our travel blog. My friend created it so it's on blogspot, I haven't figured out exactly how it works yet and i'm pretty certain i've forgotten my password lol but it's going to be great! We'll try to post every few days so you can follow our journey down South America.

12 days to go!

Adios
